Directions

Travelling from Junction 36 on the M6 Motorway, follow the A590 towards Ulverston and Barrow-in-Furness. Take the first slip road junction to continue on the A590. At the next roundabout, continue on the A590 beyond the top of the hill. Take the slip road and turn left towards Cartmel. After two left turns you will arrive in Cartmel, where you will see the Priory on your right. Stay on this road through the village outskirts and past the school. Follow this road until you arrive in Cark. At the T junction at the bottom of the hill, turn left and over Cark Bridge, The Engine Inn is immediately on the right.

From other directions, The Engine Inn can be reached via the junction of the A590 and the B5278 at Haverthwaite, sign posted Cark. Follow the B5278 for six miles until you reach the village, passing Holker Hall on the way. At the bottom of the hill and over Cark Bridge, you will find the pub.
